So, I now have packed everything that I think I will need for the next nine months in one large hiking backpack and one day-backpack (the size of an airline carry-on bag). This includes my tent, sleeping bag and liner, head lamp, flashlight, Eno gear (hammock, straps, and mosquito net), pillow, water bottle, medicines, first aid kit, clothes, shoes, rain gear, computer, adaptors, small fan, diary, small speaker, towels, hats, glasses, sunscreen, and most important--my Bible. During the past month, I have had nine shots (including boosters) for Yellow Fever, Japanese Encephalitis, Typhoid, Tenuis, Hepatitis, the flue, and another booster for COVID. I am guessing that when mosquitos fly within 5 feet of me, they just die.
I leave on Saturday with my parents for Atlanta for Parent Launch. I will spend two days in Atlanta with my squad and parents before traveling to Gainesville, Georgia, for training until mid-October. Then we launch for the World!!!!! I am 100 percent sure this is what God wants me to do. However, I am still very anxious and even scared because of the unknowns that are coming at me like a freight train. I am relying on God's command in Philippians 4:6 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." This is also where I am thankful for my many supporters and prayer warriors. We've got this. I sincerely appreciate your prayers for me, my team, and my squad. I suspect that my next blog will be from Gainesville, Georgia. Until then.... Sasha
